Tour itinerary: Auckland -
Bay of Islands - Auckland
We leave for coach Auckland in the morning to
explore the Bay of Islands. Located 260 km north
of Auckland, Bay of Islands is located on the
eastern part of the Northland Peninsula. It
is known for its large bay, which includes more
than 150 islands.
We leave Auckland and travel north along Harbor
Bridge on the North Shore residential area.
We turn through the Hibiscus Coast where we
see its beautiful beaches and then go through
Whangerei, the biggest port of Northlands.
Arriving at the Bay of Islands, we see the Treaty
of Waitangi House, where European settlers and
Maori people have signed a historic treaty.
Here you can see a war canoe Maori and a traditional
house meeting. We then take a ferry ride across
the bay Russell, the first European settlement.
In Russell we take a tour of the city and see
its waterfront, where you can buy souvenirs
and see the memories of the whaling industry.
Then we board the ferry to Paihiawhere where
there are a lot of shopping malls and a picturesque
wharf. We then board the bus back to Auckland
at the end of our Bay of Islands tour.
