Egmont National Park, New Zealand revolves
around the majestic Mount Taranaki, which overlooks
the flora and fauna and is a protected national
park which is said to be protected by the mythical
forces that Maori believe in.
The legend of Egmont National Park,
New Zealand
Once there were four volcanoes - Taranaki, Tongariro,
Ngauruhoe and Ruapehu in New Zealand's central
plateau. According to Maori legend, Taranaki
wooed the heart of a beautiful hill called Pihanga
which was also, incidentally, dating Tongariro.
When the romance between the two came out in
the open air, Tongariro exploded with rage.
Taranaki fled the plateau to the west; the trail
still exists in the form of the groove of Whanganui
River.
