Maruia Falls takes you by surprise with its
simple fall on another quiet runway. The 10
meter long waterfall occurs on the river Mauria
that originates in the Spenser Mountains. This
river to the south follows a course of 80 km
until it decides to make a return home and turns
quickly on its heels to reduce past Murchison
and join the river Buller in full throttle.
This course creates a winding nature of spectacular
features including Mauria Falls, which are a
haven for tourists and passersby as well.
